Anton Edmunds

Anton Edmunds is the President & CEO of The Edmunds Group International, LLC, (, a strategic communications firm that provides business development, government relations and advisory services to governments, businesses and associations. The firm has offices in Washington, DC as well as in the Caribbean.

He recently served as Executive Director & CEO of Caribbean Central American Action (CCAA) an independent corporation that promotes private sector-led economic development in the Caribbean & Central America. Private sector clients whose interests he has represented include Angostura, SuperClubs, Bank of America, ExxonMobil, Chevron, FedEx, Tropical Shipping, Seaboard Marine, and Scotiabank. He has also directed a variety of USAID, US Department of Commerce, State and Energy programs. Governments and multilateral agencies he has worked with include St. Lucia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Haiti, CARICOM, the Organization of American States and the inter-American Development Bank.

Mr. Edmunds has worked throughout the hemisphere for over 18 years, leading a variety successful initiatives related to maritime security, energy policy, trade facilitation, financial services, corporate social responsibility, competitiveness and tourism. He served as Chief of Party for a successful public/private sector program to protect over US $1billion in trade with Haiti. Prior to that initiative, he directed regional security programs for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean and co-directed programs on free trade and competitiveness in Central America.

Before joining CCAA in 1999, Mr. Edmunds was a consultant for business clients with interests in the Caribbean and from 1995-1997 he was based in New York as a senior manager of business development for St. Lucia. He also served from 1990-1995 with Eastern Caribbean Investment Promotion Service (ECIPS), a business development organization where he developed and managed global marketing and investment campaigns for regional governments and private sector clients in the Caribbean.

Mr. Edmunds sits on the boards of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, the Caribbean Tourism Organization, the Caribbean Association of Industry & Commerce, the Latin American Caribbean Council on Renewable Energy, the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum and International Triage, LLC. He serves as a guest lecturer at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and is a frequent contributor to the Inter-American Dialogue’s Latin American advisor publication.

He possesses a Bachelor’s degree from The Catholic University of America and a Masters Degree from the American University, both in Washington DC.
